The call park function allows you to place the current call on a holding extension, which then can be picked up from any phone in the network by accessing that same extension.

The following instructions work for a Linksys SPA9XX IP phone, and may work as guidelines for other IP phones that use similar SIP signaling.

Park a call

An active call can be parked by pressing the right arrow button and pressing the 'park' soft button. Enter a park number for the call, and then press the 'dial' soft button. This can be a number of almost any length, although we recommend you use a number with 3 or more digits to prevent potential conflicts. Remember the park number as it will be required to unpark the call.

Once the call is parked, the caller will hear either the default on-hold music or any messages you have set up through IMS. The phone used to park the call will no longer be attached to the call.

Unpark a call

You can retrieve a parked call from any phone within the local phone network by pressing the right arrow button and pressing the 'unpark' soft button. Enter the park number the call was placed on, and press the 'dial' soft button to put the call through.
