Auto Format Crescendo supports automatic horizontal positioning of notes. There are three options provided for the Auto Format feature. Auto Format Score, Auto Format Measure and Auto Format New Notes. Auto Format Score The Auto Format Score option checks all the notes on the score and automatically positions the notes based on its duration and the width of the bar. A high duration note will occupy more space compared to a low duration note. Auto format the whole score by: - Pressing Ctrl+L
- Clicking the Auto Format button on the Edit tab
- Selecting Auto Format Score under the Auto Format button drop down menu
- Selecting Menu->Score->Auto Format Score
Auto Format Measure The Auto Format Measure option will position only the selected measure in contrast to Auto Format Score. Select a specific measure by clicking on it and auto format the measure by: - Selecting Auto Format Measure item under the Auto Format button drop down menu
- Selecting Menu->Score->Auto Format Measure
Note: For best results, ensure enough bar width. Overlaps may occur if the bar width is not enough while keeping the beats aligned. Auto Format New Notes The Auto Format New Notes option will enable the automatic spacing of new notes being placed on a specific measure. The positioning is based on the note duration, width of the bar, and the number of notes placed on the measure. Enable/disable the auto format new notes by: - Selecting Auto Format New Notes item under the Auto Format button drop down menu
- Selecting Menu->Score->Auto Format New Notes
