In this dialogue you specify how recorded videos are saved by Eyeline. Once recoding is finished or a specified size is reached the recorded AVI file will be saved to your recordings folder (see Options- General). Additionally any or all of the following actions can be done.

Please note running a custom program while running as a service may require you to log on to a specific account. For more details please see Options ~ General.

Back up recordings via FTP

If you have a FTP server or a website (with FTP access), select this option to make Eyeline upload all recordings to your server. This can be useful for backup purposes or to make the recordings available on the Internet (either public or private depending on your FTP server setup).

You must enter the ftp server (eg. ftp.yourdomain.com), your username, password and the exact full folder into which you want the files uploaded (eg. /home/yoursite/www/recordings).

If you have any problems with the FTP setup, we strongly recommend you attempt to log in manually with FTP software (eg. WS_FTP, CuteFTP) to double check you have the correct full path to the upload folder.

Please note we only support Passive FTP servers.

Back up recordings to network drive

The recorded file will be saved to the specified folder on a local hard disk or to a network drive. To access network drives while running as a server please see Options ~ General - Startup Run Mode

Run external exe

[ADVANCED] This option allows advanced users to add other transmit features to Eyeline, for example to run a background video streaming program to initiate streaming the video file just created. The command line syntax is as follows: "[program executable string] [video file string]". Note that the program is run by the background service and as such does not have access to any of the input/output devices associated with a logged in user (such as monitor or keyboard), hence no graphical output will be directly visible from the program run. However if, for example, it is a streaming program then the video stream will be accessible from a web-browser.

If this option is ticked, after Eyeline has completed recording, it will run the specified exe program. The selected application will be run with the recording filename as its first commandline parameter.

Log MD5 Checksum to separate log

For auditing, a MD5 checksum will be created for the recording and appended to the specified log file. This is a totally separate file to the master log file used by Eyeline.

Transmission Attempts

If one of the backup options fails, Eyeline will wait a set time (default 600s) and try again for a set number of attempts (default 3). If it fails after this, the file is abandoned. You can change the wait time and number of attempts. In order to help you fix mistakes during setup, Eyeline will automatically restart attempting any pending failed transmit after to open Options. To cancel attempts to perform any of the above tasks, you can select Tools->Clear Backup Queue.
