Default settings for any recordings that IVM will accept over the phone can be set under the "System Settings" tab in the web control. These "Default Recording Settings" of minimum and maximum recording times can be overridden for mailboxes from within the mailbox properties, otherwise all incoming messages will be limited to meet these requirements.

Note: In addition to these settings being the default for voicemail messages, they will also affect other recordings that are being called in to IVM, such as a mailbox user changing their voicemail greeting with remote telephone access, or if you have an IVR/OGM key response set to record a file.

Recording Settings

Record Detect Level: This is for automatic voice activated recording and for end of call (silence) detection. If messages are not recorded fully, reduce this level (to say -36dB). If messages do not stop at the end of the call, increase this level (to say -15dB).

Delete Messages: IVM automatically deletes in-coming messages after a set number of days. You can change the number of days using this setting. A value of 0 means the messages will never be automatically deleted.

Format: Set the audio compression format for if you are sending messages as attachments to an email address, or uploading to an internet access web page, you can use a number of different codecs to compress the audio (reduce the file size and download time). The recommended format is GSM 6.10 or DSP GROUP TRUESPEECH. For others see our codecs information page www.nch.com.au/acm.
