High Efficiency Image File Format (HEIF) is a container format for storing individual images and image sequences.

A HEIF image using HEVC requires less storage space than the equivalent quality JPEG. HEIF was adopted by Apple in 2017 with the introduction of iOS 11, and support on other platforms is growing.

Lossless Compression

Saves the image without any reduction in image quality, but results in a larger file than lossy compression.

Lossy Compression

Saves a smaller file than lossless compression, but causes some reduction in image quality.

Quality

Choose between a smaller file with lower quality, or a larger file with higher quality.
