This dialog allows users control how Redwood Family Tree should handle invalid/custom tags in your imported GEDCOM file. Your GEDCOM files might be produced by some software which do not strictly follow GEDCOM or create some custom tags. While many of them can be safely discarded and deleted, some of them can contain important information. These settings will give you choices to minimize information loss when migrating your family project to Redwood Family Tree.
- Handle custom tags: specify how you want Redwood Family Tree to handle with custom tags in the imported GEDCOM file. You can either choose Convert to Note tags when possible or Discard and Delete these tags.
- Open log file after importing: check this option if you want Redwood Family Tree to open the log file after importing GEDCOM files. The log file contains every errors, warnings and corresponding actions which Redwood Family Tree did when importing GEDCOM files. Reading this log file can help users know where important information preserved or improve their imported GEDCOM files.
