M4P files are songs purchased via Apple iTunes, and they are protected by Apple's "Fairplay" DRM (Digital Rights Management). M4A files may be DRM protected as well and are treated the same as M4P files. M4P files can only be opened with iTunes on a computer or devices such as iPod, iPhone or iPad. The computer or device should be authorised using an iTunes account prior to playing, transferring or burning the files. Switch cannot play nor convert an M4P file but you can obtain an unprotected (M4A) version of the file using iTunes. There are two ways to unprotect an M4P file: 1. Using iTunes Plus Please follow the steps in the Apple web page 2. Burn Audio CD in iTunes and convert the audio CD using Switch Please follow the steps below to burn the M4P files to an Audio CD using iTunes. - 1. Open iTunes and login using Apple ID and password.
