The following are possible reasons why there is no audio output during playback: - Audio device driver is damaged or not updated
- Playback device is disabled
- Playback device is not connected to the right port
- Volume is muted
Audio device driver is damaged or not updated To update the Audio device driver: - Open Device Manager (You can open it by pressing Windows Key+X, then select Device Manager.)
- Double-click Sound, video and game controllers. Your Audio Device will be one of the items listed.
- Right-click on your Audio Device, and click Update driver. Windows will guide you how to search for updated Audio Device driver
Playback device is disabled To enable the Playback device: - Open Device Manager (You can open it by pressing Windows Key+X, then select Device Manager.)
- Double-click Sound, video and game controllers. Your Audio Device will be one of the items listed.
- Right-click on your Audio Device, and click Enable.
Playback device is not connected to the right port The port where the audio device is connected might be damaged or not configured to be used on your computer. With this, your audio device will not function as intended. - Playback device was connected on the wrong port. Some computers have 2 types of audio ports. One for the headphones and other one is for the microphone. Ensure that the playback device is connected into the headphone jack.
- Bad connection between the front audio jack module and your motherboard. Check the connection between your motherboard and the front audio jack is properly connected.
- The required port might not be enabled from your audio settings. Check the installed audio device driver. Go to the driver's properties and ensure that the detection is enabled.
Volume is muted To adjust the volume: - Locate the speaker in the Windows taskbar.
- Make sure the volume isn't low or muted.
- To increase the volume, drag the slider to the right.
