Use blank slides to add a fade-in effect to the beginning of your slideshow, a title to the beginning of your slideshow, credits to the end of the slideshow, breaks between scenes, or to allow extra time for audio to be heard before or after the slideshow. You can add blank slides to your slideshow by clicking the Add Blank button on the toolbar, or the Add a Blank Slide button beside the media list. If you click one of those buttons, a dialog will appear that lets you choose whether to add a solid color blank clip or a gradient clip. Once you have clicked one of these buttons, the Select Position For a New Slide dialog will appear. Your choices are: - Slider's position Adding blank slides to the slider's position in the project allows you to add slides in the middle of the slideshow. Blank slides in the middle of the show can be used to create breaks between scenes, or as a background for captions.
- Beginning of the timeline Adding a blank slide to the beginning of your project allows you to force a set amount of blank screen before your main movie begins. This can be helpful if you want to begin your movie with a buildup of music, a voice over, or adding a title.
- End of a track Adding a blank slide to the end of your project allows you to force a set amount of blank screen at the end of your movie. This could be helpful if you still have audio that you want played, but no video to show, or if you want to add credits or an ending slide.
