An FTP proxy sits between your computer and the actual FTP server that you are trying to upload to or download from. It monitors and scans these FTP connections. A proxy only works with plain, unencrypted FTP connections.

FTP Proxy Type

The proxy type determines how you access the proxy server. If you are not sure what to use, check with your server administrator.

None

Select this to disable any proxy connections.

SITE (with proxy login)

This uses the SITE command to access the proxy which will require you to also enter a username and password.

OPEN (no proxy login)

This uses the OPEN command to access the proxy. This is a proxy that does not need a login.

User@Site (no proxy login)

Specify the host with the format User@Site to access the proxy.

User@Site (with proxy login)

Specify the host with the format User@Site and provide a login to access the proxy.

Enter the host address for this proxy.

Enter the username for this proxy if a login is required.

Enter the password for this proxy if a login is required.
