Use the Export 3D Model tool to export a 3D model of your house plan. The following file types are supported:
- .OBJ (Wavefront)
- .STL (Stereo Lithography)
Select "Export 3D Model..." from the File menu. The Export Model dialog will open. For exported 3D model, you can:
- Include or exclude terrain, roofs, pools, exterior paths
- Choose stories of your house plan
Enter the output folder name where the exported files will be placed (the project name is used by default) and select the output folder location. Make sure that .obj or .stl is selected as the output format and click "Export". The OBJ file format is one of the most important file formats in 3D printing and 3D graphics applications. It is the preferred format for multi-color 3D printing and is widely used as a neutral interchange format for non-animated 3D models in graphics applications.
STL (binary representation) files describe only the surface geometry of a three-dimensional object without any representation of color, texture or other common model attributes.
Your 3D model may be loaded into any 3D software that will open Wavefront OBJ or Stereo Lithography STL files.
